The Yellow Ribbon Program and Scholarship

Amridge University is proud to demonstrate its commitment to our nation's veterans by participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program. All veterans eligible for the program (as determined by the VA) will receive a Yellow Ribbon Scholarship. That scholarship, together with matching funds from the VA, will cover all tuition and fee expenses at Amridge University that are not covered by your Chapter 33 benefits. That means that the combination of financial support from Amridge University's Yellow Ribbon Scholarship and from the VA will cover the full cost of tuition and fees. For more information about applying for VA benefits, click here.

Amridge University's participation in the Yellow Ribbon program is determined annually. Should Amridge University cease participation in the Yellow Ribbon program, eligible Veterans will continue to receive other benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill.

The Post 9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon

The Post 9/11 GI Bill is an education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. Students may begin using the benefit for study beginning August 1, 2009.

Under Chapter 33, the benefits you receive are determined by a number of factors, including the length of your qualifying active duty service, how you take your courses, and your "rate of pursuit." Contact the VA at www.gibill.va.gov for more information about the program or to determine your eligibility. Please contact us to better understand how your enrollment at Amridge University may impact your level of benefits.

Active duty military personnel who are eligible for Chapter 33 benefits and have exhausted all tuition assistance (TA) in a given year may use their VA benefits to cover the cost of tuition and fees. You must notify the Certifying Official of your home campus for any classes you would like certified for VA education benefits.

Veterans Scholarship

Amridge University salutes all that America’s veterans have done to serve our country. Now, we want to assist you in achieving your educational goals.  There are a number of benefit plans available for eligible veterans. An overview of the ones most often used for enrollment at Amridge University is provided below. More detailed information about each program and its eligibility requirements is available at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Web site

If you are using VA Benefits for the first time, you must complete a 22-1990 form and send a copy to Amridge’s Financial Aid Department.  For those who have already used benefits with another institution, you will need to complete a 22-1995 form and send a copy to Amridge’s Financial Aid Department.

  • The Post 9/11 GI Bill : (Chapter 33) The Post-9/11 GI Bill is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days on or after September 11, 2001. Veterans, active-duty service members, and their spouses and dependents may be eligible for these benefits. Additional financial assistance is available for eligible veterans through Amridge University's participation in the Yellow Ribbon program. This benefit is paid directly to the institution.
  • The Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty (Chapter 30): Active Duty Educational Assistance Program, generally for individuals who entered active duty after June 30, 1985 and served continuously for three years or for individuals serving two years on active duty followed by four years of Selected Reserve.
