Amridge University would love to see you at graduation! Here is what you need to do to attend.

The graduation ceremony is by reservation only. Students from Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 are invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre in Montgomery, AL. Graduates who have conferred degrees on their transcript will need to reserve their spot to graduate and order regalia for the ceremony, or they will not be able to march in the ceremony. The deadline is TBD.

Step 1 – Purchase regalia for the ceremony

If you are a recent graduate with a conferred degree, we invite you to attend the 2026 commencement ceremony in Montgomery, AL. To participate in the ceremony, you must complete Steps ONE and TWO of the graduation reservation process. This process is mandatory.

Awards

The honor cords presented at the Amridge University graduation ceremony carry distinct significance. Each cord represents a specific level of academic achievement, determined by a required cumulative GPA. Additionally, military graduates receive a single red, white, and blue cord in recognition of their service.

Cum Laude 3.500-3.699— red honor cord
Magna Cum Laude 3.700-3.899— one red and gold honor cord
Summa Cum Laude 3.900-4.00— two gold and one red honor cord

Hoods

At Amridge University, advanced degree candidates wear hoods as part of their academic regalia. The lining of each hood is in our school colors, red and white, while the velvet border varies depending on the specific school from which the candidate graduates. Graduates are also able to keep their cap, gown, stole, and tassel as a memento of their achievement.

Proper Attire and Etiquette

Academic Dress

Undergraduate and graduate participants at Amridge University will purchase their graduation regalia package from Oak Hall. This package includes a black gown, a cap with a red tassel and medallion, and an embroidered stole. Master’s and Doctoral degree graduates will also receive a hood with the appropriate velvet color, included in their package. Additionally, Doctoral participants’ regalia package features a black gown with red velvet accents and a tam.

• Amridge University Policy states that candidates may not alter or decorate their regalia in any way or wear additional articles not sanctioned by the university. Doing so may interfere with your ability to participate in the graduation ceremony. This includes stoles.
• Tassels are worn on the left side of the graduation cap at all times.
• Men are encouraged to wear dark slacks and dark shoes, while women may want to wear dark shoes and simple jewelry.

Diploma Distribution

• Diplomas are shipped and delivered within 40 days from the date of the degree conferral. Diplomas are mailed to the current address on each student’s profile. If your address changes at any time, please contact the Registrar’s office and change your address through Self-service.
  • Diplomas cannot be sent while there are outstanding financial obligations to the university. If a student does have an outstanding balance, they must rectify it before their diploma will be sent.
