Amridge University is an independent Christian university founded in 1967. The University has an affiliation with the Churches of Christ. The university worked directly with the Department of Education to design and implement a national model for distance learning.

Amridge University includes the College of Business and Leadership, the School of Human Services, the College of General Studies, the School of Continuing Education, and the Turner School of Theology.
